Cursed

Maci has the Tobler family curse. She sneezes when we go outside into the bright light.  She was sneezing like crazy the other day, and Jeff asked if our  no-good-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather did something to pass a curse on to us.


We concluded, that somewhere back in time, our no-good-handkerchief-stealing-great-great-great- great-grandmother was cursed. She was asked to crochet a new handkerchief for a neighbor who just lost her husband.  She was given very fine silk to make the hanky. She instead kept the fine silk for herself, and didn't make the hanky. The neighbor cursed our grandmother to forever sneeze at the sunlight because of her tears and sadness, that she wasn't comforted and would never see the sunlight again in her own life.
