Maci's 6th month Well Child visit

Maci had her 6th month well child check-up yesterday. I was late in scheduling her visit (at her dr's office you have to schedule 2-3 months in advance for well child visits!) Her stats are:

17 lbs 7.4 ounces (69%)
26.5" long (70%)

She is doing great! She is still a great eater, and soooo close to crawling! Any day now! We had one major discussion this visit. Should she be gluten free? And the answer is yes.

She has a higher chance than Ashton of having Celiac. I was diagnosed while pregnant with Ashton, and so had gluten and then went gluten free. So in a way his body was exposed to gluten and has a less likely chance of his body building up the antibodies. Maci has a higher chance. If she is gluten intolerant, it is hard to tell in children because the effects are noticed until they are severe, malnutrition, failure to thrive physically and mentally, anemia being some of them. And as a baby she obviously can't tell you her tummy hurts. She is going to see a gastroenterologist at PCMC in December so we can make a plan of action. So for now, she will be gluten free until she is 3.
