KINGSLEY!!!!!
You facebooks already know about him, but here are the details!
We've been wanting to get a puppy for a while now. We've been researching breeds and constantly looking at ksl.com, and the humane society web page. After we got the green light from our gracious landlords, we started our hunt. We ended up at the humane society after work last thursday after seeing this pup and others on the web page. Jeff was smitten right away.
He is a 6month old Welsh Corgi Cardigan and Beagle mix. He's 18 pounds now and will be 25. He was given to the humane society after the previous owners were foreclosed on and had to move to an apartment. He has been great with the kids, wants to play with the neighbor dogs, and is very loving.
It was truly wonderful to get a 6month-already potty trained-puppy. Best thing ever! (Especially given Miss Maci's Stubbornness!!!!!!!! ---We've cleaned up more Maci potty messes than Kingsley's!) He knows sit, and kind of knows lay down and roll over (Lisa is the only one who's gotten him to roll over yet). He loves playing with the kids and Maci is truly smitten. He loves running around with her. He is loving the snow, pouncing about and stopping to eat it. He doesn't want to come in he's having so much fun in the snow!
We've slowly introduced him to rooms in the home, and he stays out of the bedrooms and bathrooms unless he's invited. He just lays on the floor waiting outside the door. He's so cute with his toys, once he's done with them, he puts them in small hidden corners as to keep them safe.
As for his name. We wanted a name before the kids went to bed (the night we brought him home). After coming up with a list, from looking at online sites, to coming up with names that represent us, Kingsley is the one that fit. We can thank Sir Ben Kingsley for the inspiration, and recently seeing him in HUGO. And the simple explanation for his name, because he's a Regal Beagle!
