It has been a very fun weekend! Thursday evening, we carved our pumpkins. Ash and Maci had fun. Ash wasn't sure at first, didn't want to stick his hand in the pumpkin, or touch the 'guts' but once I got Maci to, Ash joined in. He said Ewww, and so Maci would too. I got a cute little video of them playing with the pumpkins.
Maci was very interested in what was going on.
My man carving his pumpkin
Ewwww!
Friday Morning, I got the kids dressed up and took them to my mom's work, where the co-workers always bring in their kids and grandkids!
At grandma's work.
Friday night, my homeward, the 10th ward, had a trunk or treat.
Maci got the hang of the idea real quick of getting treats. Most everyone let the kids choose what they wanted. Maci would grab the treat and put it in her bucket, or in her mouth (with the wrapper still on!). We'd head to the next car, then she was turn and run back to the last car (well hey, that's where we get the goods isn't it?). One time I had her hand and pulled her towards the next car and she shouted "i don't like it!" (a common phrase heard from Ashton!)
One of the cars had this plastic stand up ghost. Maci LOVED it! She was so intrigued by this glowing thing that was just her size!
Saturday night we went trick or treating to Grandma and Grandpa Hale's.
Ash was so shy at first and didn't want to say his "Arrrrrr, Trick or Treat!"
He got a Halloween Slinky!
After visiting the Hales, we had dinner w/ the Toblers, then went to about 6 houses, and the Jones' for a short bit (they always have grown-up snacks and drinks on Halloween.)
Maci starting saying "eat, eat!" when we got to the doors (trying to say Trick or Treat). it was pretty cute. They had so much fun. After, we played a few games with my mom and sister and headed home. We got home around 9, but the kids had had it! They were basically having a contest on the way home of who could cry louder!
Last night, Maci woke up early again crying, I couldn't get back to sleep after calming her down, and Jeff started throwing up. So I've been up since 5:30, and Jeff has finally fallen back asleep!
(Maci has been waking up almost every night for a few weeks now, in the middle of the night crying, usually she's happy if you get her a drink of water, and goes back, but I wonder if 20month olds can get night terrors? or whatever the cause is to have her wake up 1-2 times a night every night?)
